About the Creator

Alexandra, known as Sascha, is a graphic designer whose personal journey profoundly shaped the creation of My Daily Companion.
With a background in advertising and web design, Sascha worked as an art director for many years before transitioning to freelance work. Her professional path took an unexpected turn when chronic illness began to significantly impact her daily life.
Facing challenges like fatigue, brain fog, and unpredictable energy levels, Sascha discovered that many existing productivity and journaling tools weren’t designed for people navigating such experiences. Most systems assumed consistent energy, predictable focus, and linear progress—assumptions that didn’t match her reality.
“I needed something different”, she reflects. “Tools that could bend without breaking, that would support me on both my good and difficult days, and that wouldn’t make me feel like I was failing when I couldn’t keep up with arbitrary streaks or rigid systems.”
Drawing from her design expertise and personal needs, Sascha began creating adaptable journaling frameworks—first for herself, then for others facing similar challenges. She immersed herself in psychological research, seeking evidence-based approaches that could translate into practical, sustainable daily tools.
The result is My Daily Companion—an evolution of her Success Journal & Planner that she’s been developing and refining since 2021. This journal acknowledges complexity, embraces flexibility, and bridges the gap between thoughtful reflection and meaningful action. It incorporates what Sascha has learned about managing energy, reducing cognitive load, and creating supportive structures that adapt to changing needs.
The journey behind the journal “One thing I’ve learned is that tools should serve people—not the other way around. When traditional systems didn’t work for me, I realised the problem wasn’t me—it was that those systems weren’t designed with experiences like mine in mind. My hope is that this journal feels like it was made for you, because in many ways, it was.”
Now based in Hamburg after many years in her hometown of Cologne, Sascha continues to develop tools that support mental wellbeing, clarity, and gentle progress—even during challenging times. Her work is informed not only by professional expertise but by lived experience with the very challenges many of her users face.
“I’ve designed this journal for anyone who’s ever felt overwhelmed by traditional productivity methods or rigid journaling practices”, she says. “It’s for people who need space to breathe, room to adapt, and support that meets them exactly where they are.”
